Hublot Supports Smiling Children Foundation

Hublot and the Smiling Children Foundation have announced their partnership. The prestigious watch manufacturer has offered its support to the projects initiated by the Foundation, aimed to help young women in Morocco and Afghanistan. Hublot presented its new Big Bang, a special moderately sized version. Part of the watch sale revenues of will be given to the Foundation.

The Hublot brand has always been interested in the defense of children, having regularly supported initiatives for their protection through the brand's own MDM ("Hand in Hand") Foundation. The partnership with the Smiling Children Foundation will allow the Swiss watchmaking company to restore justice for young girls in countries where they suffer from no access to descent school education. Through the partnership, Hublot will join the fight against child labor and contribute to school reintegration. Due to the work performed by the Foundation, young women will get a chance to acquire proper training and then get a job and a stable income.

The Smiling Children Foundation represents a non-profit-making foundation with headquarters in Switzerland. It was established in 2005. The Foundation helps young Moroccan girls, taken from their homes to become servants, to come back to their families, and then attend the school.

Moreover, the Foundation has launched the campaigns to rise awareness about the problem among the local population. In Morocco, there are 30,000 young girls aged between 6 and 12 years, coming from poor families living in rural areas, who were forced to become physical or moral slaves in the cities.

In Afghanistan, boys make up the majority of schoolchildren as education for girls was banned for seven years by the Talibans. The Foundation works to develop a school for 7000 Afghan girls aged from 6 to 18 years, getting support from the government of the country, Cherie Blair and the British Council.

The Big Bang Smiling Children has become the first 38 mm diameter Big Bang created specially for slender female wrists. The timepiece reveals the distinctive characteristics of the brand's famous model. The bezel of the watch is paved with diamonds, while the sober dial is a clear expression of femininity. The seconds hand in purple color, standing out among the harmonious variety of white shades, reflects the Foundation color, with its logo engraving on the back of the timepiece.
