At the 63rd annual Festival of Cinematographic Art in Venice Jaeger-LeCoultre has had the privilegeto support the festival for the second time. At this edition of the Film Festival the famous watch brand hosted many famous Hollywood stars, such as Sting, Josh Hartnet, Scarlet Johansen, Trudie Tyler and Spike Lee at the Nikki Beach hospitality villa.
At that fabulous place there were many pictures taken of the CEO of the Jaeger-LeCoultre manufacture, Jérôme Lambert, posing with his guests, mentioned earlier.
Reverso Grande Taille
At the festival Jaeger-LeCoultre took the chance to promote their cult Reverso collection. It was launched back in 1931 and at the festival the watchmaker has started an initiative of restoring cult films, thus celebrating the 75th anniversary of this famous collection.
The watchmaker decided to award the laureates of the festival with the Reverso Grande Taille - also a classic watch from this collection. It has a small seconds' sub dial at 6 o'clock and a guilloche face, like many timepieces from this watchmaker also have. The owner can engrave anything on the reverse side of the watch, thus having both a watch and a jewelry piece. At the festival the manufacturers have taken the responsibility to engrave the laureates' watches themselves and have depicted there the famous Golden Lion – the symbol of this film festival.
AMVOX2 Chronograph
Another significant fact for Jaeger-LeCoultre was that the actor Clive Owen was wearing his new Jaeger-LeCoultre AMVOX 2 Chronograph to the premiere of his film "Children of Men". This watch is valued at 12000 Euros and was produced only in a limited edition of 750 pieces. It is another stage of collaboration between Aston Martin and Jaeger-LeCoultre. The watchmaker has designed this watch particularly for drivers as the utmost instrument for timekeeping. This is a very rare type of chronograph, as it has no buttons. If you ask, how the chronograph's functions can be turned on and off, the answer would be "Just touch the screen!".
The crystal glass has a system of a ball and joint pivot, which are situated at the lower and the upper part of the screen. This mechanism has a sophisticated system of levers to start the chronograph.
It is made of 427 parts, of which 130 are in the case and other 25 constitute the dial. The AMVOX2 is powered by the Calibre 751, which provides a 72 hours' power reserve. Other tech feats of the watch are the 30-minutes' counter and a 12-hours' counter situated in quarter-moon apertures near the center of the watch. The case of the AMVOX2 is made of titanium and steel covered with titanium oxide.
Thus at the Film Festival Jaeger-LeCoultre has managed to support the film makers and to promote their products, as nothing is a stronger ad as a star wearing the watch of Jaeger-LeCoultre. |
