TAG Heuer Has Made It on the Wide Screens Again

TAG Heuer Has Made It on the Wide Screens Again

The year 2006 was rich with new movie appearances and some of them were impatiently expected by the fans. TAG Heuer watches have also managed to play some parts in some of those blockbusters. "Babel" and "The Departed" are two new movies, where TAG Heuer watches were in the center of the action.

TAG Heuer Carrera's Part in "Babel"

"Babel" is a movie directed by Alejandro Gonzales Inarritu, who has already directed such mystical and psychological masterpieces of Hollywood like "21 Gramms" and "Amores Perros". The central parts are played by Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchet, Gael Garcia Bernal, Jamie McBride and many other talented actors.

The action of the motion picture handles on three different continents, in four different countries: Morocco, Tunisia, Mexico and Japan. In all of these countries some strange and tragic events took place. The courageous husband Richard (Brad Pitt – what other character can he else play?) tries to unravel the case of his family and this leads him and others to weird consequences.

Throughout the movie he is accompanied by a faithful and reliable friend – a TAG Heuer Carrera watch. The elegant, yet sporty watch underlines the character of its wearer. The TAG Heuer Carrera is the representation of the entire series of sport watches from TAG Heuer. Some say that it is a classic among watches dedicated to racing.

The Famous, Yet "Departed" Link Watch

"The Departed" has gathered a real constellation in its credits: it is directed by Martin Scorsese, with the main parts played by Leo Di Caprio, Jack Nicolson, Matt Damon, Mark Wahlberg, Alec Baldwin, Anthony Anderson, Martin Sheen and others.

The movie is once again about the eternal war between the police and the mafia. The most interesting fact in the plot is that both the police and the mafia have infiltrated one of their men into the opposing force. The undercover federal agent infiltrated in the mafia structures is played by Leo Di Caprio. The police mole of the mafia is played by Matt Damon. However, everything becomes dangerous when both the police and the mafia find out that there is a mole amongst them.

Actually the whole storyline of the movie is very confusing and it is easier to watch the movie than to retell what it's all about. But there is one thing worth mentioning: agent Colin (Matt Damon) has the legendary TAG Heuer Link watch on his wrist. This timepiece accompanies the character of Matt Damon throughout the entire movie.

After a long history (since 1987) of creation and developments the Link watch from TAG Heuer has also made it on the screens of cinemas, just as many other watches from TAG Heuer already did. The first name of the Link series was "S/el", which meant Sport/Elegance. In 1999 it was renamed Link and in 2003/2004 TAG Heuer has launched an upgraded series of Link watches having traces of the initial design of "S/el".
