Tame Time

Present-day wristwatches grow in size and continue demonstrating a constellation of miracles: besides most accurate timekeeping, modern timepieces inform their owners about weather, pressure and speed of moving.

Breguet Double Tourbillon

Nowadays cell phones, computers, remote controls, kitchen units and even refrigerators are able to show the time. There is an opinion that nontraditional "time-tellers" are not in competition with traditional watches but just reflect our very busy life style. Meanwhile, traditional "time -catchers" conquer consumers' hearts by expanding the lines and creating watches meant for business meetings and leisure activities, diving and practicing sports. As a result, many fashion people have a collection of 5-8 wristwatches offering a variety of functions and different designs.

Swiss mechanical watches are still found among the most prestigious ones: their delicate mechanisms are precise, refined, and reliable and imply the corresponding way of life of their owners.

Tourbillon Boom

Tourbillon is the most refined and highly-accurate mechanism. A famous watchmaker Abraham Louis Breguet created this complication in 1800-es. People used to wear watches in a pocket then. The watches provided with a tourbillon mechanism produced a real boom all around the world - a great number of watch companies started developing watches with tourbillons. The list includes Patek Philippe, Blancpain, Cartier, Alain Silberstein, Cronoswiss, Ikepod, Franck Muller, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Ulysse Nardin, Audemars Piguet, IWC, etc. It is known that Asian producers such as Seiko work upon this direction as well.

Such a thing as a tourbillon is destined to enter the most prestigious watch class comprising timepieces that go on a price from 50 thousand to half a million dollars. But it is also possible to find tourbillons offered for 8 thousand dollars. The system of their evaluation is kept a secret by their producers.

A famous Swiss company Breguet launched a tourbillon with power reserve to 120 hours and a double tourbillon, Classique 5347 Grande Complication. The two complicated mechanisms increased the number of details in the model up to overall number of 570. Patterns that are real works of art are engraved on the back side of the watch.

Almost at the time of tourbillon's reincarnation a skeleton has reappeared. Skeleton is a watch, with the entire watch mechanism being visible. The technology of skeletons' creation is a real art - it is about much more than mere timekeeping. The view of a working watch mechanism is amazing as well as the beauty of details made of gold or platinum, encrusted with precious stones and decorated with patterns.

Luxury for Gentlemen

Wristwatches for men imply luxury that is more reflected in multi functionality than in superfluous details. That is why watchmakers annually add something new to timepieces for men. For example, a famous Gerard-Perregaux watch made of pink, yellow and white gold features a great number of complications.

A modern person's way of life is super dynamic today: working full day, going in for sports, and active leisure time. For this reason, chronographs that once were considered to be just sports watches, today bear an air of prestige. As a rule, all chronographs are anti-shock, their cases and accessories are made of steel, titanium, caoutchouc; their hands and numbers shine in the darkness and their overall look is massive and aggressive. There are also water-resistant watches specially created for diving.

There is no doubt that complicated chronographs are a truly men's toy. It is necessary to remember that the complicated nature of the device requires special care.

And one more interesting fact - the stylish design of sports watches has established a king of a tradition to wear such a watch with a business suit.
