Omega Replica Watches – Long History of a Great Brand

Omega Replica Watches

Omega is one of those brands, whose history has been marked by ups and downs, yet it took all the challenges and reached the top position in the horology world.

The logo and the name of the watchmaker represent the last letter of the Greek alphabet, which symbolizes accomplishment and perfection – two qualities which have always guided the Omega watchmakers throughout time.

The history of the brand began when Louis Brandt assembled his first pocket watches under the brand Omega in 1848. The watchmaker developed his first watches in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. In order to find and open new markets in Europe, Brandt traveled a lot around the continent.

In 1879, when Louis Brandt died, the company was overtaken by his two sons – Louis-Paul and Cesar. The best accomplishments of the brothers moved the manufacture to Bienne, where it operates until today.

After both brothers died in 1903, the family business was inherited by four young grandsons of the founder. Most successful of them was Paul-Emile Brandt. It is his merit, that the Omega watches became what we know them to be now.

During Paul-Emile Brandt's leadership and that of his successor, Joseph Reiser, the Omega company gained new grounds in watchmaking.

During the World War I many companies experienced problems. The Omega Company was not an exception. To solve those difficulties Omega had to merge with Tissot in 1930, another Swiss watch brand, thus creating the SSIH Group in Geneva. However, all these changes didn't affect the quality of the watches and Omega timepieces continued to earn good name and reputation of a Swiss brand.

During the World War II the Omega Constellation, Seamaster and Speedmaster Chronograph were found among the most popular military and pilot watches.

The Events that Made OMEGA Famous

The history of Omega witnessed some remarkable events, as for example the first watch, and still the last one, to have ever landed on the moon. This highly honored watch was the Speedmaster Professional, worn by Neil Armstrong in 1969. In addition, during the flight of Apollo XIII it helped saving the expedition, and for the feat Omega received the Snoopy Award.

In 1970 Omega initiated a small revolution in the industry, by launching the first Quartz Caliber 21, the first in the history of watch making.

In 2002 Omega celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Constellation collection. Specially for this occasion Omega issued a watch called simply "Constellation 50th Anniversary". This collection included 3 watches for men and 3 ladies' watches. Each watch was made either of gold or steel, having the back engraved with the words "Constellation – 50 Years". The cream, silver or black dial had the Omega logo on it.

It is also worth mentioning that Omega was the official timekeeper of 21 Olympic Games. This fact perfectly proves that Omega spends a lot of resources for finding different ways of improving time measuring systems and devices.

Famous People with Famous Watches

The Omega replica watches have become the choice of many famous people, both real and fictional, among which Cindy Crawford, Ernie Els, Martina Hingis, Nicole Kidman and James Bond are the best known. The Swiss brand has also many ambassadors -Michael Schumacher, Cindy Crawford and Nicole Kidman.

Each of Omega watches is a kind of masterpiece. If an Omega watch is designed for a sportsman, it will surely perform every function a sportsman could ever need. Among the Omega collections there are watches designed both for men and for women, there are museum collections and there are special collections.
