Oris – the New Chronoris Watch

Oris Chronoris WatchThe Oris brand has been based in the Swiss town of Holstein since 1904. In 1970 Oris introduced its first mechanical chronograph in the time when the world of horology was going through a serious crisis caused by the appearance of quartz watches. Still the brand took a bold step forward and debuted its Chronoris model which lived into the early 1980РІР‚в„ўs, ignoring competition from cheap quartz watches.

The Chronoris watch became one of the most successful models developed by Oris. The year 2005 witnessed the appearance of the new timepieceРІР‚в„ўs version which will remind you the styling of the 1970s with several updated features. If you take a look at the updated Chronoris watch, you are sure to notice two immediately recognizable visual differences. First of all, the position of the tachymeter scale has been changed. It used to be in a circle near the dialРІР‚в„ўs center, but now it is along the inclined flange. The second difference is a large elapsed-minutes counter at 12 oРІР‚в„ўclock which performs the chronograph function.

Both the original and the new watches feature the first 45 minutes along the minute circle ring colored in orange to allow the watch owner to time for instance the duration of the halftime break at a soccer match, but as for the latter timepiece this two-tone coloration does not fulfill any practical purpose any more. The date display has also been moved to a new position – the rectangular window at 3 o’clock has been replaced by a circular opening at the “6” mark. Even taking into consideration all the changes, the new version of the Chronoris still touches watch aficionados with its cool retro design of 1970s due to such characteristic details as the design of its dial, the tonneau shape of its case, as well as the watch’s perforated leather strap.

As the result of successfully updated original Chronoris, there appeared a stylish watch, sporty yet elegant, especially great for wearing in summer or leisure time. The refined craftsmanship distinguishes both the case and the back demonstrating precisely cut edges, and matte surfaces alternated by the polished ones. You are sure to be deeply impressed by the watch’s side view – nifty sci-fi curves reminding about the spaceships in ‘B” movies popular in 1960s.The elapsed seconds and minutes together with continuously running minutes and hours, are absolutely legible. Watch-owners who would like the seconds hand indicate the watch is still running, may have the chronograph function switched on all the time.

The Chronoris is powered by reliable Caliber 672, based upon a Valjoux 7750. The absence of superfluous indicators makes the watch really appealing to those who dislike frilly things. The red-colored rotor is characteristic to all rotors on the brandРІР‚в„ўs self-winding movements. The watch owner may keep oneРІР‚в„ўs eye upon the ChronorisРІР‚в„ўs movement through a pane of mineral crystal in the threaded back. There is an insulating ring along the circuit of the back and a shock-absorbent mounting to protect the securely fit in the case movement from ill effects of knocks and blows.

OrisРІР‚в„ўs folding clasp provides the security of the strapРІР‚в„ўs closure, keeping the clasp shut by a metal spring.

Oris replica watches reflect a rich heritage accumulated by the successful watch-making company. Become the owner of a nice good quality Oris replica watch to embellish your life with more precision and enjoyment of wearing a reliable timekeeping device.
