Revolutionary Power Reserve Mechanism

The two barrels mentioned above are the main pace-keepers of the watch. Since it was extremely difficult to build such a watch with this astounding power reserve, the watchmakers have calculated the size of these two barrels scrupulously so it would pass into the case and would provide the maximum of energy available. In order to bring up this energy both mainspring barrels are wound simultaneously. The first barrel is equipped with a system containing a slipping bridle, which prevents both mainsprings from being overwound and disengages the barrels when they have reached their wounding limit. A power reserve display near 12 o'clock shows how much time it is left until the next wounding.
